Bank Account creation in Oracle Payables 15 Years, 6 Months ago
|
|
|
During the creation of a Bank Account in our Oracle Payables implementation, we needed to select the Bank Account owner (a Legal Entity) and decide which modules would be using the Bank Account.
I noticed that, among all the four modules (Payables, Receivables, Pay Roll, Treasury) to select from, Treasury was greyed out, and we couldn’t select it as a module to use the Bank Account.
Why was this? Is it that Oracle Treasury is not part of the Oracle Applications family, meaning that we have to install it separately?

When you install Oracle Applications, all modules are installed as far as database and front-end files are concerned. However during installing you specify which modules you have the license for. That information is also stored in the database and Oracle knows if you are using a particular module fully or as shared.

Thank you Hasan for the reply.
However, you have not fully addressed my question.
During the my Oracle Applications installation, I have not specified which modules I have a licence to use, such as Oracle Payables, Receivables, Pay Roll and Treasury.
Yet, we (including Hasan) were able only to select Oracle Payables, Receivables, Pay Roll as modules to use with a particular Bank Account, Treasury module being greyed out (thus, impossible to select it if we wanted to).
Please, explain.
Thank you.

If you have done fresh/production install then you must have selected the licensed module. I know I did. That could be the reason treasury is not available.

Hasan, I have done fresh/production install and followed your videos to the finest details.
Your video is also PLAINLY showing that Treasury module cannot be selected, since it is also greyed out on your video, not only in my case.
So, the question is still on the table! Why is Treasury module greyed out on the video in your tutorial?

You mean why Treasury is grayed out when selecting which module can use the bank account?
That is what I have told you, my best guess is that either Treasury is not licensed or it is not setup. I would be worried about Treasury being grayed out if I have licensed treasury and did its initial setup.

Just for your information in my installation Treasury is neither licensed nor setup. I hope that helps.

Thanks Hasan.
You are right, since you have not setup Treasury module, it cannot be among the modules to select from, which would use a given Bank Account.
But, could you confirm as to whether in your installation, Pay Roll is licensed setup.
Once you confirm this, the situation would become more clearer in my mind, giving that Pay Roll module (just like Oracle Payables and Receivables} was available to select as a module to use the Bank Account, in your tutorial.

I dont remember selecting Payroll as licensed just like Treasury.
Your next question I am anticipating would be then "why payroll is available for selection and treasury is not". Sorry, I dont have an answer.

Yes, you have not selected Pay Roll and Treasury modules. But Pay Roll was available for selection whereas Treasury was not available for selection. It was greyed out.
I am now closing this chapter! I thought your friend Oracle Larry Ellison would bail you out!
Than you Hasan.
