GL, AP,AR Calendar... 15 Years, 1 Month ago

Do the calendars shared by all the modules (GL, AP and AR) or each module have it own calendar.
Let assume, it is shared by modules. Then, how the closing process will work.
I.e. if I am closing AR module for the month of Jan-11. This is going to close GL and AP
too even though I do not want to close it. Please let me know.

Each module has its own calendar to accommodate the need of each department to process the transactions before the close process kick in. Closing AR will not close GL and AP automatically. Hope it helps.

You create one calendar in GL.
AP and AR use the same GL calendar.
However each module, GL, AP, and AR, manage period statuses individually.
Having said that following is true:
* If you create a 12 period calendar in GL then AP and AR will also see 12 periods.
* You can have JAN-11 open in GL but closed in AP and AR; or open in GL and AP, but closed in AR for example.
