1 OU servicing 2 LE's 12 Years, 7 Months ago
Hello Hasan,

A long time ago you stated something like this, shown below...
.
"If OU1 is tied to 2 LE's (via Ledger), and LE1 is associated with BSV (01) and LE2 is associated with BSV (02)
.
Then OU1 will be process business activities for TWO Balancing Segment Values (LE's)
.
Bottom-Line, OU1 is doing processing for TWO Companies."
.
My question is...
In the "real" world, how is this handled...
Is there 1 Resp that is assigned the OU1 and when the end-user enters a journal or activity (AP/AR), they can enter either Company 01 OR Company 02 ??
Is there any restrictions placed on the responsibility ?
OR
Do we create 2 responsibilities and assign a different Data Access Set (custom) that restricts entry of Company 01 and the other responsibilty restricts the access to Company 02 ?
.
What is the normal setup.. based on what you have seen to-date WHEN we have 1 OU servicing 2 LE's ?
.
Thanks
Charlie :)

Whether there will be one responsibility for OU1 or two depends on the business needs. Usually a segregation within an operating unit is not required meaning all people in the department are allowed to access all the companies (01 and 02) the operating unit is serving.
