Credit Revenue,. Debit Accounts Receivable 12 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi, I am experimenting with manual journal entry:

Credit Revenue $30
Debit AR $30
Post.

However, when I do an account enquiry, the revenue balance is negative 30

Why is this? I thought that when you credit revenue, revenue increases?

Thanks

Yes, revenue increases when you credit it.
However natural balance for revenue accounts (as well as liability accounts) is "negative". -300 means you earned 300.
That is why in FSG reports revenue columns are multiplied by -1 to make them appear as positive.
