Disabling a Natural Account 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Hello Hasan,
I was reviewing your video on disabling accounts. However I can't seem to disable a natural account such that I will NEVER be able to use this natural account in again for any new code combinations.
Dynamic Insert is turned ON.
Assume there are 5 segments in my COA.
If I disable the natural account, I can still create new code combinations using this natural account.
The value is not in my LOV, however I can simply enter the value and NOT use the LOV. This works. However, I don't want this to work. :)
What are my options.
I can't see myself entering all possible new combinations and disabling each of them... there would be way too many... considering I have 5 segments in my COA.

Any suggestions ?
I still want to allow users to enter existing code combinations using this natural account, but NO new code combinations.
Ie. Account 5000
.
Thank-you
Charlie

1) Either turn off dynamic insertion. No new combinations would be created.
2) Or use cross validation rules to prevent new combinations to be created.

Otherwise new combinations will be created.

If you simply disable a natural account value, then you cannot enter new combinations (new or old) in journal entries using that disabled value.
