SLA - Journal Header Description 11 Years, 11 Months ago
Hi Hasan,
I created a custom SLA method and tied it to my Ledger.
I was altering the Journal Header Description based on the Supplier Type. Just experimenting.
.
Seems to be working but not 100%
.
Create accounting generated the correct JE HEADER Description... at least I think it did based on the screen shot.
Within GL the journal is NOT SHOWING this JE Header Description, as you can see from the screen shot.
.
Any idea as to WHY NOT ?

Thank-you
Charlie

Can you confirm this...
I did a bit of reading and came to the conclusion that the Journal Header Description is within SLA and NOT within the GL. It never gets carried forward/transferred to the GL.
Hence the GL will NOT display this description.
Am I correct ?

Thanks

You must be running a summary transfer. Change it to detail transfer.

Accounting setups settings:

Using General Ledger responsibility, navigate to
Financials -> Accounting Setup Manager -> Accounting Setups

Query for the Ledger being used

Update Accounting Options

Select update for 'Subledger Accounting Options' 'Update Accounting Options' for the Application

Here there is an option 'General Ledger Journal Entry Summarization', which can be set to following values:

Summarize by GL Date (Journal Import will create summary journals based on Acccounting Date)

--> No Summarization (Journal Import will create journals in Detail mode)

Summarize by GL Period (Journal Import will create summary journals based on Period to which the Accounting Date falls)
Thus the option 'General Ledger Journal Entry Summarization' will determine if the Import for the application is being done in Detail or Summary mode.
