Summary Template 'T','D' 15 Years, 10 Months ago
Hello Hasan,

When defining Summary template, I noticed that there is an option to use a -->
Rollup Group, 'D' or 'T' to represent segment values.

1) What does the 'T' represent ?
2) When should I use a 'T' ?

I entered a Template : IT-T-D and I got an error.
"There is an undefined segment value associated with summary template"

I think it has something to do with using 'T'.

Any thoughts ?
Thank-you

I have covered "T" value in one of my videos on summary accounts. Did you get a chance to see it?

You need to create "T" value in your value set first.

Thanks Hasan,

I thought I viewed your video's at least twice, and didn't see it mentioned.. only 'D'
I'll look again today.

Thanks again :)

I talked about T in one of the last videos on summary account. If you do not find it then please let me know.

Hi Hasan,

I can't find any reference to 'T' value in a Summary Account Template.
I looked at ALL video's relating to Summary Accounts.
"Summary Account Concepts" & "Create Summary Accounts"

I found nothing, in any of the videos.

ps.
There are 2 other programs regarding Summary Accounts that I think might be important. Just my 2 cents worth. :)
1) Incremental Add/Delete Template Program
2) Maintain Summary Templates

Thanks
Frank

Hasan,

I just have 1 more question regarding this 'T' value in the Summary Template.

You mentioned that I need to create 'T' as a value in my value-set.

In our enviroment I WAS able to generate summary accounts using
IT-D-T ( "T" is for Dept... and "T" was not defined as a Value )

However, IT-T-T does not work... unless I define 'T' as a value in my Account value-set.

Why does "T" need to be a value in the Account value-set, but the
"T" is not required to be defined in the Dept value-set ?

I'm a bit confused.
Thanks

Thanks Hasan,

Seems like after I created "T" PARENT values for each segment
(value-sets) in my COA, I was able to get my Summary Account Templates to generate Summary Accounts.

In order to use T, T must be defined as a value. However you do not have to specify child ranges for it. It is assumed to encompass all detailed values in it.
