Mass Allocation formula 15 Years, 9 Months ago
|
|
|
Hello Hasan,
I noticed on the MassAllocation forumla video's that for both TARGET and OFFSET there was no mention of the values for :
Ledger Currency,
Currency Type,
Entered Currency,
Amount Type,
Balance Type
Is that normal for MA formula's. that there is no real significance for these fields for both TARGET and OFFEST accounts ?
Thanks

The Functional Currency, Actual Balances and Amounts have been assumed, since this is standard journal entries, not performed under Budget journals.

The Ledger Currency, the Currency Type, the Entered Currency and the Amount Type for the Mass Allocation formula’s Target and Offsetting the will be the same as that of the Cost Pools (the source amount).
Example:
A = $26
B = 2 (Note: 2 = 2 people)
Let do some division:
A/B = $26/2 = $13. The answer is automatically in dollars, not 13 or 13 people, but $13.
Let do some multiplication:
AxB = $26x2 = $52. The answer, again, is automatically in dollars, not 52 or 52 people, but $52.

Thank-you Gavrobere.
I understand the calculation part, I was just not sure about the qualifier for the Target & Offset line...
Ie : Currency Type,Amount Type, Balance type.
I guess in the example that defaults are all that is needed. The qualifiers are irrelevant since a journal gets created and the journal is based on Actual dollars.
Thanks again :)

All these are derived from the cost pool ... I second what Gavrobere has said.
