Installing EBS on Windows 7 13 Years, 1 Month ago  
I have a problem to install EBS on Window 7 I mean when I install linux on Vmware , I cannot access the internet for the Guest OS
Couldn't find the Problem

I just finish installing everything. Did you chnage the hosts file and add a line with IP address and server name. You may want repeat the last lesson on installing Oracle E-business. The hosts file is c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

The line should like
192.168.1.4 linux.server

Charles,
Are you able to ping your Guest machine from host machine?

su root
<enter password for root>
/sbin/ifconfig

What is the IP address of your Guest machine?

/usr/sbin/system-config-network

You will see an IP address if you are connected to the router.

What is the setting here? If DHCP enabled? If not then what is the static IP?

Make sure that you have entered a proper static IP address is if DHCP is not enabled.

I am sorry I didn't reply to that post, the solution was fixed what I have done is setting a static ip while installing linux because I have a problem the the eth0 network interface didn't start up. that solve the whole problem and complete the installation succeffuly
